Before 13% HST. Ranges are rounded to the nearest $500 and come from published 2026 GTA cost guides, not a quote. A typical double interlock driveway in Mississauga or Toronto is around 600 sq ft, which puts most jobs between $15,000 and $27,000.
Interlock cost per square foot in Ontario
| Paver type | Installed cost per sq ft |
|---|---|
| Standard concrete pavers, simple layout | $25–$32 |
| Premium pavers, border and pattern (e.g. herringbone) | $32–$45 |
| Large-format slabs or permeable pavers | $38–$55 |
These are Toronto and GTA installed prices for 2026: removal, excavation, the compacted gravel base, pavers, cuts, edge restraint and polymeric sand. Published GTA guides range from about $18 to $55 per sq ft overall. "Interlock", "interlocking brick", "interlocking stone" and "pavers" all mean the same concrete pavers here, so the same prices apply.
How this driveway paving cost calculator works
It multiplies your area by the typical installed price per square foot for the paver type you pick, then rounds to the nearest $500 and adds 13% HST for the second figure. The price bands are the same ones in our interlocking driveway cost guide, compiled from the published 2026 GTA guides listed below. Installed means the whole job: removal, excavation, the compacted gravel base, bedding, pavers, cuts, edge restraint and polymeric sand.
How to measure your driveway
- Rectangle: measure the length from the garage (or house) to the sidewalk or road edge, and the width across. Multiply them.
- No tape measure? Pace it out. One big step is about 3 ft, so 10 steps by 7 steps is roughly 30 ft × 21 ft.
- Odd shapes: split the driveway into rectangles, add them up, and put the total in as length × 1, or use the walkway box for the extra piece.
- Metres: switch the units to metres; the calculator converts to square feet.
What makes your price higher or lower
- Size and shape. Bigger driveways cost less per square foot; curves and many corners cost more.
- What's coming out. Thick concrete or several layers of asphalt take longer to remove.
- Soil and base depth. Clay soil, common across Mississauga, often needs a deeper base.
- Paver and pattern. Large-format and premium finishes cost more, and herringbone means more cutting.
- Extras. Steps, walkways, drains, lighting or a heated system add to the total.
Interlock vs asphalt vs concrete driveway cost
Asphalt is the cheapest driveway up front, concrete sits in the middle, and interlock costs the most on day one. The difference is over time: asphalt needs resealing and is usually replaced within 15–20 years, concrete cracks with freeze-thaw and road salt and can't be patched invisibly, and interlock on a proper base lasts for decades and can be repaired one paver at a time. Already have interlock that's sinking? Releveling usually costs far less than a new driveway; see interlock repair.
Widening at the same time? Check your lot's limit with the Mississauga driveway width checker first.

How accurate is this driveway cost calculator?
It gives a realistic market range for the GTA, not a quote. Your actual price depends on site conditions we can only see in person, like soil, access, what's being removed and grade changes. A free site visit gives you an exact written quote.
Does the price include HST?
The first range is before HST. The calculator also shows the range with Ontario's 13% HST.
Does it include removing my old driveway?
Yes. The typical installed ranges include removal and disposal of an ordinary asphalt or concrete driveway, excavation and the new base. Unusually thick concrete or several old layers can push the price toward the top of the range.
How big is a typical 2-car driveway?
Around 600 sq ft in most Mississauga and Etobicoke neighbourhoods, for example 20 ft wide by 30 ft long.
How much does interlock driveway repair cost?
Much less than a new driveway when only part of it has sunk. Repairs are priced per job, and small ones can often be estimated from a few photos. See our interlock repair page.
Is interlock cheaper than concrete or asphalt?
No. Asphalt is cheapest up front and concrete sits in the middle. Interlock costs more on day one but lasts for decades on a proper base and can be repaired paver by paver.
